New York, New York - part 1

The Prayer Assignment for New York City was complex.  There were four specific geographical areas where we were told to pray and prophesy, plus hold two Ekklesia Rallies.  We left for New York on the morning of August 11, and traveled to Wilkes-Barra, PA for an overnight Boondock stay at the Salvation Army facilities.  We were very blessed and thankful for Tom & Joan Pierce for their gracious hospitality.

On Monday afternoon, August 12, we checked into the KOA campgrounds at Newburgh, NY.  This would become our basecamp for the week ahead.  Chad Forth was also camped there, just a short walk through the woods from our campsite.  It was a very peaceful and quite place for us to have great fellowship and prayer times as the Holy Spirit gave specific strategies for the various assignments.

We knew that we had to return to the Charging Bull of Wall Street.  We had been there the previous year, but we did not complete the prayer assignment adequately.  So, as in everything with the Lord, if you fail the test, you get it take it over again. When we went the year before our ministry was hindered by the large crowd of tourists.  There were lines of people at both the head of the Bull and the tail.  They were laying their hands on the huge idol, wishing and praying for prosperity and financial blessings.  We knew that we were not supposed to make a big scene or start a disturbance with the tourists or the authorities. So, Tuesday evening we had dinner together and then we had a prayer time at the RV seeking the Lord for a strategy. He said, "Go after dark, go at night." And He gave me the scripture passage of Acts 17:10.  When Paul preached the Gospel of the Kingdom of God in the Jewish synagogue at Thessalonica, the leaders and the authorities became jealous and started a riot.  They dragged Jason and some of the brothers out of his house, accusing them of the sedition of worshipping another King other then Caesar.  Their response was, "as soon as it was night, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea." (Acts 17:10 NIV)  The Lord used the cover of night to spare Paul and Silas the hostility of the locals, and HE was directing us to do the same.  We concluded that we would go the next day to our first assignment the: ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER. and then go after dark, go to the RAGING BULL OF WALL STREET.
